I love the flavors of fall—apples and warm spices—so I knew I had to try this Apple Cider Margarita. Usually when apple cider takes a starring role in a drink, that drink is warm but here in south Texas it’s a little early for warm drinks. The apple cider and cinnamon sugar in this margarita make the perfect fall drink for those of us in warm places.
Apple Cider Margarita
- 2 cups apple cider
- 1/2 cup silver tequila
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Cinnamon sugar and coarse salt for rim
- Apple slices for garnish
Combine apple cider, tequila and lemon juice in a pitcher. Moisten rim of margarita glasses with a piece of lemon and roll in cinnamon sugar with a generous sprinkle of salt (**Hint: I usually just rim half the glass in case someone doesn’t want the salt or sugar). Fill glasses with ice and margarita mixture. Drop an apple slice in each glass for garnish. This makes 4 drinks.
