At this moment, it appears that St. Patrick’s Day around the world (not just in the US) is going to be subdued. However, if you should be in the mood to celebrate—on your own or with a small group of friends—we thought we’d offer up some ideas.
GZ’s Big Batch Boulevardier
Kay saw this drink on Food Network’s, The Kitchen, recently. Geoffrey Zakarian used Rye whiskey in the original but a good Irish whiskey could be substituted in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day.
- 4 cups Rye (or Irish) whiskey
- 2 cups Campari
- 2 cups sweet vermouth
- Orange Peel for Garnish
Combine all ingredients except orange peel in a freezer safe container and stir. Place in freezer until party time. Serves 8-10.
Fulton’s Irish Pub and Grill
Here in Rockport we still haven’t given up on getting to go to our favorite pub for a small celebration on Tuesday…guess we’ll have to wait and see. The pub opened last year after a long wait. They have good food, cold beer and friendly people behind the bar.
One of our favorite dishes on the menu are the Irish Nachos. A plate full of their homemade potato chips loaded with Irish cheddar sauce and corned beef. They’re so good, I haven’t tried to come up with my own version yet so if you’re ever down this way, be sure to stop in and try a plate.
Jameson Cold Brew
We recently acquired a bottle of Limited Edition Jameson Cold Brew—a wonderful blend of Jameson Irish Whiskey infused with natural cold brew coffee flavor. It would be a wonderful finish to any St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
Thanks for reading. Stay safe and well everyone! Wishing y’all Health, Wealth and Love and Time to Enjoy Them.
